Weave Butcher Block Counter

this is the 2nd counter top that had been installed by our gas cook top
the original counter top was granite tile


My husband decided he wanted to learn how to make a weave butcher block pattern
He decided to practice the technique and replace the above counter top (again)

He bought a stack of exotic hard woods
this is how the counter looked after he cut the board strips and glued them together the 1st time


you would not believe how incredibly heavy this was.
those hardwoods were super dense
ready to be cut and placed into a weave pattern for the next glueing
